Clementine Child Safety Policy
Last updated: May 2026
Keeping children safe is a core commitment of Babylist and our Clementine app. This page explains what we prohibit on Clementine, how we detect violations, what happens when a violation is found, and how to report a concern.
What we prohibit
We do not allow any sexual or suggestive content. This includes uploading or sharing any child sexual abuse material (CSAM). CSAM can be defined as a visual depiction of sexually explicit conduct involving a minor, including the display of a sexually explicit conduct involving a minor and/or the display of a child’s nude body in a sexual way. This is an absolute prohibition. There are no exceptions based on context, claimed purpose, or format. If you are unsure about a piece of content involving a minor, do not upload it.
How we detect violations
We use automated technology, including hash-matching against databases of known CSAM maintained by child safety organizations, to scan content on our platform. This technology identifies content that matches known CSAM without exposing non-violating content to unnecessary review.
What happens when a violation is detected
When our systems detect apparent CSAM:
- The content is removed from the service immediately.
- The account associated with the content is permanently terminated.
- We submit a report to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) as required by federal law (18 U.S.C. § 2258A). This report may include the relevant content and associated account information. NCMEC reviews reports and refers them to law enforcement as appropriate.
How to report a child safety concern
If you encounter content on Clementine that you believe depicts child sexual abuse or exploitation, please report it immediately by emailing ncmec@babylist.com. You may also report directly to NCMEC at missingkids.org or by calling 1-800-843-5678.
